Alright Companero here it is,

My life consists of 8 year olds.  I am a third grade teacher and I love it.  Never thought I would say those words.  I teach in white suburbia for the first time since I graduated college, and let me tell you it makes teaching a lot easier and more fun where you’re kids aren’t crack babies, abused daily, emotionally/behaviorally disabled, or Kuwaiti!  Needless to say my kids now seem like angels compared with my past years of teaching.

We bought a new house and I love it.  I am SLOWLY but surely moving in and decorating.  I am just so happy to have a home with a front door into my living room, instead of a front door to your stairs as in an apartment.

Lastly, I will comment on my last post.  God is good…so good.  I didn’t even remember posting that and when I re-read it I was shocked.  I have since then; found a church home, joined a small group, and really tried to study and bring God more into my daily life.  It has been an exciting and scary journey but I am so thankful for everything that God is doing in my life.  Now don’t get it twisted, it is a slow process for me and the old Heidi is very much still alive and kickin, but I am trying to let God refine her a little bit.  Well I am going to stop for now, as my husband is IMing me from Korea.  Let me leave you with this quote from a first grader.

Me: How old are you Gavin?

Gavin: Ummmm, seven or eight. (thinking pause)  Wellll, I know I’m definitely not 5 anymore.

Me: Huh?

Gavin: Well I’m 6,7,or8 (pause)  I’ll know for sure by Monday!!!!
